Proba has raised €1.25 million in growth capital to expand into the United States and Brazil. In this round, existing shareholders Future Food Fund en Yield Lab Europe have reinvested alongside Value Factory Ventures.

Proba certifies Scope 3 emissions reductions in the agri-food supply chain, with a focus on emissions related to nitrogen fertilisers. These emissions alone account for approximately 5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. With its expansion across the Americas, Proba aims to enable Scope 3 reductions at greater scale in regions that represent a significant share of global food production.

“Our ambition is to make fertiliser-related Scope 3 reductions standard practice in global agri-food supply chains. This funding accelerates that ambition, particularly in the United States and Brazil.”

Sijbrand Tieleman (CEO & co-founder, Proba)

While proven low-emission fertiliser solutions already exist, large-scale adoption often lags due to costs and structural challenges within the supply chain. Proba addresses this by making emissions reductions measurable, financeable and credible for all parties involved.

“Proba is already delivering real, measurable impact by turning fertiliser-related emissions reductions into outcomes that companies can report in a credible way. This traction aligns well with our focus on deep tech with measurable climate impact.”
