Value Factory Ventures has relocated to a remarkable new space: the Van Gelder Experience Center in Ridderkerk. Van Gelder is a typical Dutch, yet ultra-modern supplier of fresh fruits and vegetables, with a mission to make the Netherlands healthier and more sustainable through food. Their facility stands as one of the most sustainable new buildings in the country—everything, from the construction materials to the carpet tiles, is designed with sustainability in mind.
Van Gelder is pioneering vertical farming techniques, growing fresh produce like lettuce in innovative ways. The facility boasts impressive environmental credentials:
- 3,500 solar panels on the roof
- 540 fruit trees in the orchard surrounding the building
- 0 m³ of gas consumption and zero energy usage for heating the offices
- Significant reduction in CO₂ emissions
