What grows on the land gains value in construction.
Value Factory invests in SAM Panels, a producer of biobased and toxin-free construction panels made from agricultural residual streams. With this investment, we support SAM Panels in further scaling its production, product development and commercial growth.
SAM Panels produces construction panels made from natural fibres, including recycled paper fibres and agricultural residual streams such as miscanthus, hemp, tomato leaves and cow manure. In doing so, the company offers a sustainable alternative to traditional wood and sheet materials, with applications in construction, interior construction and industry.
Construction panels from agricultural residual streams
The construction sector faces a major sustainability challenge. At the same time, agriculture produces many residual streams that can be given new value. SAM Panels brings these two worlds together.
The company develops and produces high-quality construction panels based on locally available raw materials. The panels are made using water, pressure and heat, without the addition of harmful substances. As a result, the materials are completely toxin-free and respond well to the growing demand for healthy, circular and locally produced construction materials.
Room for further growth
With the investment, SAM Panels aims to further execute its growth plans. The funds will be used to further scale up production, support product development and expand commercial activities in the Netherlands and abroad.
The ambition is to work towards a large-scale production facility. This will enable SAM Panels to better respond to the growing demand for sustainable panel materials and further strengthen its position as an alternative to traditional wood and sheet materials.
Investing in companies that strengthen one another
The investment aligns well with Value Factory’s focus on companies that contribute to a sustainable and circular economy. Especially in the transition towards biobased construction, collaboration across the value chain is essential.
We like to invest in companies that can strengthen one another. In SAM Panels, for example, we see clear connections with other companies within our portfolio. Miscanthus grown by farmers through Dealin.Green could potentially be used as a raw material for the development of construction materials by SAM Panels. This creates a logical link between agriculture, raw materials and circular construction materials.
With its technology, market position and sustainable product approach, SAM Panels has a strong foundation for further scaling. We look forward to supporting the company in this next phase of growth.
